# Turn a tweet into a Slack image

Slack's tweet unfurls broke when X restricted its embed APIs, so links now often render as a bare URL with no preview at all. Posting an image of the tweet is the reliable way to make it readable in a channel without asking everyone to click through.

## How it works

1. Paste the link to the post.
1. Keep the padding tight so the card stays readable inline in a channel.
1. Leave the resolution at 2x to keep the upload small.
1. Download the PNG and drop it into Slack.

This page uses minimal padding and a lower render scale, because a Slack message renders the image small and inline: a huge file with a wide margin just wastes upload time and vertical space in the channel.


## Questions

### Why do tweet links no longer preview in Slack?

X restricted the embed APIs Slack relied on, so many links now show as plain text. An image sidesteps that entirely.

### Why is the resolution lower here?

Slack displays inline images small. 2x is plenty and keeps the upload fast on a phone.

### Will the image work in Microsoft Teams too?

Yes. It is an ordinary PNG, so any chat client that accepts image uploads will render it inline.
